We are finally coming to the end of another year, 2017. I’ve gotten a considerable amount of reading done and just barely missed my goal of 50 books. I’m at 47 😦 However, I am determined to celebrate my favorite 10 books from this year all together! These books all made me cry, yell, squeal and smile so I hope you enjoy my list just as much as I enjoyed the books!

I recently finished Far From the Tree by Robyn Brenway and I loved it so much that I just had to write a review. Everything about the book was so rich and true that I just felt so connected to the story. Both the plot and characters in this story were so amazing that I literally do not have a single complaint about this book. If you need something that will really make you feel something, then I definitely recommend picking up this book.
The Art of a Re-Read
Hi lovely readers! Have you ever read a book so good that you can’t let it go and you just sit there staring at it and repeatedly flipping the pages reading your favorite scenes? C’mon, you know you have. I definitely have more often than I’d like to admit. This brings me into a cycle of reading the same books over and over again, or better known as The Art of a Re-Read.

Heartless is a wonderfully creative book that pulls in elements from the original Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. As a retelling, I really loved the details and pieces from the original story that Meyer brought into her book. I also loved the unique story that she created to explain why our protagonist became the queen of hearts. While I did have some problems with the story she brought into the book, I still thoroughly enjoyed it once I got to the end.
I would definitely recommend this to you if you love retellings (this story is very similar to the original book, drawing in many characters directly from Alice in Wonderland), and especially if you love Alice in Wonderland. Even if you’re not an avid reader, I think someone who enjoys the wonderful world of wonderland would fall head-over-heals in love with this book.
This book has its fair share of romance, action, drama, and world-building, making it a very versatile read. I would recommend reading this book in one or two good sittings. The pacing of this book is really slow in some parts, making it hard to concentrate on over the course of a few days. The overall picture of this book is extremely good, so reading it all at once would definitely make you enjoy it that much more.
On another note, fans of Meyer’s other series, The Lunar Chronicles, probably should not go into this book expecting the same outcome. That is definitely not saying that Heartless isn’t good, because it really is. It’s just not the same ~vibes~ as the TLC.

Top 10 Books of 2016
2016 has been both a good and bad year for reading. There are many things that happened for me this year, including the fact that I got back into bookstagram and started a blog, which I am forever grateful for! However, there are not many books that have particularly stuck out, and not many that I have even read in the first place. I think I ended up reading 49 or 50 books because I lost count near the end of December.
This top 10 was hard for me to choose, not because of the profusion of books that I thought deserved a spot on the list, but because of the absence of extremely good books that stuck out to me. I did, however, end up with a list of 10 books that were particularly amazing, and I think the deciding factor for me was that each one of these books had made me shed a tear. Some because of the beautiful writing, some because of the amazing characters, or some because of the world and story that so beautifully stuck out to me. Lets get started!
September 2016 Wrap-Up
