Oh gosh, April has flown by really fast. This month has been extremely exciting for me, because I have gotten into blogging, bookstagramming, and a bunch of other fantastic things! With that, let’s get into the wrap-up! 🙂
WHAT I READ:
This month, I have read a total of six books. This is a little sad for me, but I have been busy bookstagramming and recently blogging! Two of these books were actually rereads as well.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)– This Month I reread this via audiobook. I starting rereading the entire series back in February, and I absolutely love listening to it by audiobook. Jim Dale’s narrations are amazing, and I think I will be listening to more audiobooks in the future. As always, this book was amazing, and J.K Rowling is the queen of writing.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) – I also reread (relistened?) to the fifth book in the Harry Potter series this month. Again, it was absolutely amazing and perfect.
Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) – THIS. BOOK. WAS. SPECTACULAR. I read this early in the month and could not put it down. Cassie Clare continues to blow my mind with her amazing stories, characters, and plots. This exceeded my every expectation and I loved it. I have a review on the book here Lady Midnight Review if you’d like to check it out (which you should 😉 ).
This is where it ends by Marieke Nijkamp (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) – I went into this book with high expectations of action, love and feelings. This book was beautifully written, but it, sadly, did not live up to those expectations. I did enjoy, just not as much as I thought I was going to.
Wink Poppy Midnight by April Genevieve Tucholke (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) – I picked up this book, with the idea that I would read 20 pages or so, and then start (funnily enough) writing this blog post. However, I read the whole thing in one sitting. As I was reading, I was thinking that I wasn’t really going to end up liking the book. It did surprise me though, at the end when i just started to get connected to the characters. All in all, it was a good book, but it just took me a little time to start to enjoy it, and sadly by that time there were only 50 or so pages.
Dreamology by Lucy Keating (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) – I liked this book, but it didn’t make such a big impact on me as I thought it would. I never really it connected to the characters, and I thought the idea for the book was a little young. All in all it was a fun, light read and I enjoyed it, but not as much as I thought I would.
WHAT I HAULED
All together, I hauled 11 books this month. This is actually a lot of books for me, but I only ended up reading two of them. I have roughly 15 unread books on my shelves, but I can’t resist buying all the new ones.
WHAT I BLOGGED
This month I started blogging! I’m so excited to be part of this community, and hopefully grow as a writer, and bookstagrammer. Since I only recently started blogging, I only have two posts that I published this month, but I promise that their will be more to come in May.
MY FAVORITES
Bullet Journaling
This month I began bullet journaling and it has really helped with keeping me organized. I’m still working out the kinks and trying to make it work for me, but hopefully it will help me keep my school/bookstagram/blog life organized and planned out.
Staedtler Triplus Fineliner Pens
I use these pens for writing in my bullet journal and really love them so far. They work really well for writing and color coding, but I’m also looking for something a little bigger for larger sections. Any recommendations?
Hamilton
At the beginning of the month, I was tired of seeing everyone rave about Hamilton, and not know what they were talking about, so I decided to give it a go and listened to it. Needless to say, it has changed my life. I definitely recommend that you go listen to the soundtrack if you haven’t already.
Greys Anatomy
I started watching greys sometime in march, but I’m still watching it now (Theres 11 seasons – you can’t blame me). It is so GOOD but so SAD. I can’t watch too much of it at once, or else I’ll suffer a breakdown and cry for hours. I’m only on season 3 so no spoilers!
Reflection
- At the beginning of the month, I started bookstagramming again! I had stopped posting on my account at the beginning of the year, and before that my account was mostly a fandom account. Now, I’m back at it, and I fully switched over to be a bookstagrammer and I could not be more happy. I’m still learning how to photograph most of my pictures, how to edit, and be active in the community, however.
- I also started blogging! This has been such a great decision and I absolutely love blogging and posting about books and other nerdy things.
- I was chosen to attend a day-long science camp for girls at Cornell University (A college close to my high school). I attended this on the very last day of April, so it was very close to not being in this wrap-up. It was such a great experience and it really opened my eyes to the science and math fields.
Goals for May
In may I hope to…
- Read at least 6 books
- Grow as a bookstagrammer
- Become better at blogging
- Get more involved in the book community
How was your April, and what are your goals for May?
xoxo,
Katie
